This lavish Silvertone is truly stunning! It has all the features of a consul radio packed into a large sized table radio.  Featuring tone control, pushbutton tuning, and a “magic eye” tuning indicator tube.

 

The magic eye tube can be seen in the center top of the dial scale on this Silvertone. This tube gives a visual indication of the radio-frequency signal strength.  As the tuning knob is adjusted, the green eye display becomes narrowest when a station is tuned in correctly. See below image for visual reference. Please note, green “eye” display moves only when the radio dial is adjusted, the below image is looped.

 

Inside this radio we have a 8 tube AM/ shortwave amplifier, and a large 8 inch electrodynamic loudspeaker.

 

This radio has been restored and converted with a direct MP3/iPhone line-in. USB charger and Bluetooth upgrades available.
